In recent years, BIM has been widely used in countries around the world, and our country, as a large economy in the world, has a rapid demand and development. The State Council, the Ministry of Construction, and various provincial and municipal governments across the country have frequently issued documents on the mandatory application of BIM technology in engineering construction projects, and policy support from the central to local governments has increased the promotion and development speed of BIM.
BIM, or Building Information Modeling, is a technology that defines the entire process of design, construction and management of buildings or infrastructure objects through digital information. In this process, all information involved in construction and maintenance (including products, manpower, equipment, activities, etc.) can be collected and shared on a unified platform, so as to efficiently solve various details in design and construction.
After more than 20 years of development and practical verification, the technical advantages of BIM have been widely recognized by major cities. It has the characteristics of collaboration, visualization, simulation, and optimization, which can effectively realize information co-construction and sharing, thereby achieving the purpose of saving costs and improving efficiency.
To better leverage the advantages of BIM, P3 has developed a dedicated series of libraries for the software P3 BIM. The library is a significant improvement over the default material library in REVIT to allow customers to present more detail during use, as well as to associate products with the corresponding p3dutal product catalog, which can significantly reduce costs and timelines.
